Bolsward is ideal for a varied walk. You will find plenty of cultural history here, in the countryside you can enjoy the tranquility and the views. First of all, you walk loose on the towpath along the Bolswardertrekvaart. This canal was built in 1638 at the expense of the city of Bolsward. In Burgwerd you can see the Johanneskerk, which originally dates from the thirteenth century. You walk to Hartwerd on a winding road. Here you can see an authentic Frisian belfry.
