Description

From Oostrum in Limburg you can make a beautiful bike ride through quiet forests and authentic Maas villages. You drive through the countryside to Meerlo. On the edge of the village you can see the remains of a fifteenth-century castle on your left. Just past Megelsum you cycle through't Sohr. This new nature reserve consists of a former Maas arm and a wetland forest. Along the Maas you drive through a number of atmospheric church villages. In Broekhuizen, for example, you can admire the Sint-Nicolaaskerk. Further on you will pass through Lottum, the village known for its rose cultivation. You cycle through the Houthuizerheide, a reclamation forest where mainly Scots pines grow. Just before Tienray you drive through the valley of the Groote Molenbeek. The route ends with a snack and drink at Pannenkoekenhuis De Perdstal.
