9. Blerick - Nijmegen - Amstel Radler, Tour de Hollande

Today we drive through the grounds of Wout Poels. Chris Froome's foreman at Team Sky was born in Venray and is still regularly doing his rounds in this area. Today the venom is clearly in the tail. We first make a small loop along Ysselstein, the birthplace of Peter Winnen. The Limburger won the stage to Alpe d\\\'Huez no less than twice. The first time it came as a big surprise, we remember the images of Winning in the light blue Capri-Sonne cycling jersey. After his career, Winnen wrote several books and stories about the romance of cycling. We then our route towards Nijmegen. We cross the Maas between Oeffelt and Gennep. The stage that started flat gets its climax in and around Berg en Dal where we follow a number of tough climbs (Duvelsberg, Zevenheuvelenweg and Holleweg). The finish is today in Nijmegen.
