Tour of Horst

Between the Limburg village of Horst and the Maas, you will take a bike ride that is rich in natural beauty and cultural history. Via Melderslo, you will cycle to the Houthuizerheide, where you will cycle between the fragrant conifers. In the adjacent nature reserve Het Schuitwater, you will see a mosaic of alder swamp forest, marsh vegetation, coniferous forest and heathland. In Broekhuizen, you can take a look at the fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. Further on, you will pass Kasteel Ooijen and, near Blitterswijck, you will come across Expositie 40-45, a private museum about the Second World War. Just before Tienray, you will cycle along the Diepeling. Sand and gravel have been extracted here for decades; the area will soon be developed as a nature reserve.
