This route passes two village churches: Noordgouwe (the Three Kings Church) and Zonnemaire (the church with the name Beata Maria de Dolores). In the months of May to September you can walk into these churches during the day - please note: on Sundays & nbsp;
tomorrow not because of church services-. In both churches you can bring a map / text / question for the road. It is a nice walk through the polder and the two beautiful villages. Along the way you will come across three picnic areas, two catering establishments, a historic orchard and also a picking garden. It is therefore a nice and varied walk, where there are also all kinds of beautiful birds to spot on the Weeldijk. & Nbsp;
You can choose whether you start the walk at junction 55 (Noordgouwe) or at junction 29 (Zonnemaire).
Junction 55 is the start from Noordgouwe. You can visit the inside of the church here. From May 2021 cards with texts and questions will be available here. You can take one ticket with you for the road. You will find an information board in front of the church. Continue to junction 56. There you will come across the first picnic spot. You then continue to junction 34. Please note: there are no signs at the crossing of Kruisweg / Gaanderseweg: just cross and continue. At point 34, turn left into Oostweg. There you will enter the village at junction 29. & nbsp;
You can also use node 29 as a starting point. This junction is located at the bus stop in Zonnemaire. There is also an information board here. You are opposite the Ouwe Smisse (closed on Wednesdays). You walk to the left and then you go to the right. You can walk through the gate to the main entrance of the church. It is open from May to September. You can look inside. From May 2021, there will be a chatterbox in the church, from which you can pick up a question for the road. There is also a guestbook in the church. & Nbsp;
After the church, turn right and go through the 'corridor'. You follow junction 28. At junction 28 you can enter the cemetery. In this cemetery you will find special 'drum monuments'. Then go back to junction 28. Continue to junction 29. Here you enter the campsite. There are still old fruit trees on the edge of the campsite. Follow the signs to the picnic area. Here you can also walk along the water to an information board about this orchard. Then you walk back to the picnic table and continue your way. You will then arrive at Stapelsweg and then turn left into Boogaardweg. At junction 52 you go upstairs to junction 53. There is another picnic table there. Please note follow junction 54 here! There is a beautiful viewpoint on the Weeldijk. Take a seat on the bench and let the information board inform you about the birds that you can see here. Then walk on to Noordgouwe. Bring a small amount of money in advance, because then you can also enjoy the picking garden. The route ends on the Noordgouwe ring road. There is also catering. & Nbsp; & nbsp;
Once you have started in Zonnemaire, walk - after a stop in the church - to junction 56.
