From the Visserseiland you walk along the Markermeer, before you walk into the city. You can see the sixteenth-century Noorderkerk on the Veemarkt. You walk through one beautiful street after the other to the Grote Kerk from 1883. You walk out of the city via the beautiful Grote Oost. Through the greenery you walk along the Markermeer and you can get a breath of fresh air while looking out over the water. After a while you have a magnificent view from the quay of the Schuijteskade, the Prison Island and the ancient Hoofdtoren. The last part of the route leads you through the protected cityscape of Hoorn: enjoy! Hoorn was therefore the most important port in the area for centuries - after Amsterdam. The route ends at Camperplaats and Jachthaven de Grashaven.
