Tour Geesbrug and Geeserveld

First you walk into the authentic Drenthe esdorp Zwinderen, after which the campsite is named. Then you walk on to Geeserbrug, on the Verlengde Hoogeveensche Vaart. The place was created in 1860 after the construction of a bridge over the canal, hence the name. On the way you make a detour through nature along the Marsstroom. Geesbrug is located in the Veenmarke van Gees, between the meadow complexes Geeserveld and Zwindersche Veld. After a visit to Geeserveld, follow the Landschapsweg towards Gees for a bit, along the tranquil Boswachterij Gees, a nature reserve with forests, heaths and fens.
