Tour of Vennebulten and Aaltense Goor

Your walk starts at Wijngaard en Uutbloashalte Hofstee De Vennebulten. It is named after the nature reserve of the same name east of Varsseveld. De Vennebulten consists mainly of coniferous forests and is traversed by a Hessian road dating back to Roman times. The forest lies on an old sand ridge in a濕 heathland area. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the entire area from the observation tower. From De Vennebulten, you walk straight into another special nature reserve: the Aaltense Goor reserve. Here you can still see the small, narrow plots of hay meadows of the past, separated by ditches and alder hedges. The rest of the old cultural landscape has disappeared due to land consolidation. Nevertheless, the entire wider region is well worth a visit: many estates and castles are situated in the surrounding scenic landscape.
