Tour of half-timbered houses and views near Mechelen

Your route starts at Geulhof Mechelen. The walk introduces you to authentic South Limburg: you walk through sunken roads along limestone grasslands, hedges and standard orchards. In Höfke and Schweiberg, the centuries-old half-timbered houses give you the feeling that time has stood still a bit here. The route leads, among other things, through the Schweibergerbosch, a real slope forest. The gravel farm Bissen is located in the Schweibergerbos and a war memorial has been erected hidden between the trees. The hard stone cross, fitted with a corpus, commemorates five fallen British soldiers who crashed into the woods with a bomb. On the plaque you can read the five names of these brave warriors. When you walk out of the slope forest, you can enjoy lovely views over the valley.
