Description
The Veluwe is never boring. Dense forests full of quiet paths, vast heathlands and characteristic villages such as Otterlo, Hoenderloo and Harskamp. This route has something for everyone.
A vineyard just outside the woods
The route takes you through the Deelerwoud, one of the nature reserves on the Veluwe. Here you drive through vast heathlands that are grazed by cattle. You might also come across a fallow deer or a red deer or one of the many breeding birds such as the nightjar, the curlew and the stonechat. After cycling for quite some time through the woods, you will pass a real vineyard: Wijnhoeve De Veluwe. A nice place for a well-deserved break. On the terrace you can enjoy a cup of coffee, soft drink or wine and a delicious sandwich. If you have enough time, take a tour of the vineyard and learn everything about wine production.
