Tour of Hunzedal and Hondsrug

Your route starts at Camping De Vledders. With its unprecedented tranquility and varied landscape, Drenthe is ideal for beautiful cycling trips. This route takes you through the Gieten-Borger Forestry and through beautiful towns such as Gieten and Gasselte. In Boswachterij Gieten-Borger you drive through an almost 3,000 hectare nature reserve that consists of a mix of deciduous and coniferous forests, heathland and peat bogs. You will find the famous Boomkroonpad here. During this educational walk through the treetops you will have beautiful views of the wooded area. On your route you will see some beautiful old Saxon farms. Gasselte is a village with a long history. The striking white Church of Our Lady partly dates from the mid-thirteenth century, but has been renovated several times over time.
