Tour of Hunzedal and Hondsrug

Your route starts at Camping De Vledders. With its unparalleled peace and varied landscape, Drenthe lends itself well to beautiful cycling tours. This route takes you through Boswachterij Gieten-Borger and through beautiful towns such as Gieten and Gasselte. In Boswachterij Gieten-Borger you cycle through a nature reserve of almost 3000 hectares that consists of a mix of deciduous and coniferous forests, heathland and peat bogs. Here you will find the famous Boomkroonpad. During this educational walk through the treetops you have beautiful views of the wooded area. On your route you will see several beautiful old Saxon farms. Gasselte is a village with a long history. The strikingly white Church of Our Lady partly dates from the middle of the thirteenth century, but has been renovated several times over the years.
