Berkelland, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 2135545
Provided by: Groots Genieten
You walk through a region called the Berkelland. The catchment area of the Berkel river is dotted with old hedgerows and lovely water streams. The soil here has been paved for centuries, gradually transforming the area into the current cozy ash landscape. You can immediately relax during the first kilometers as you walk through the scenic landscape of meadows, fields and forests. Typical Achterhoek! Further on you pass the sand martin wall on the Het Noasman estate. Beltrum is a nice village on your route. Here 20 farms were razed to the ground by a tornado in 1927, you wouldn't expect it in the Netherlands!
