Then you cycle through the Veluwezoom. This nature reserve was declared the first national park in the Netherlands in 1930. Get off at the almost ninety-metre-high Posbank. What a fantastic view you have here! You also cycle right past Rosendael Castle. Of the fourteenth-century castle, only the large round tower remains, the rest of the building dates from 1616. In the castle you can see how the nobility used to live. A little later you cycle through the Sonsbeekpark and Zijpendaal Estate. You will see several monuments there, such as Zijpendaal Castle, which originally dates from 1764. You will also pass through the area around Oosterbeek, a village that was popular with painters in the nineteenth century.
