After a cup of coffee at Beleefboerderij de Kleine Carrousel, put on your walking shoes. Today you will discover Huis Verwolde and its beautiful park. The Van der Borch family lived here for two hundred years. The house from 1776 can be visited in its original state, nice to take a look. You will see attractively furnished rooms: you will pass the beautifully restored Chinese room, lounge and dining room. On this beautiful old estate with garden, park forest and forest you will find numerous plants and animals. In the summer you can see butterflies such as peacocks, atalanta and the small kingfisher butterfly. The moist areas in the forest have a unique vegetation. The nuthatch, green woodpecker and oriole live in the park near the house. In the evening you can hear long-eared owls!

Sights
Huis Verwolde
This was once a medieval castle with thick walls, three ramparts and three moats. You would think that it was easy to defend, but it was completely destroyed during a fierce battle between Gelre and the Oversticht (Overijssel). The current house, which was built in the 18th century, was sold in 1977 to the Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen Foundation. Since then, the rooms have been refurbished according to their original functions.
