Tour of Buren and Zoelen Castle

First you walk to Buren, a picturesque town that can call itself Oranjestad because of its connection with the royal family. Here you see the fifteenth-century St. Lambertus Church where William of Orange married his first wife Anna van Buren. Zoelen Castle (or Soelen) is a beautiful thing. The original building was destroyed in 1362, the current seventeenth-century house is located about 500 meters from the site of the old castle. The English-style estate can be visited. Beautiful with all those historic outbuildings! You walk back to your starting point via Kerk-Avezaath.
