Tour of Schoorl from Egmond aan Zee

From Egmond aan Zee, you first ride through a vast polder landscape of meadows and ditches. Then you cycle into the Schoorl Dunes. The dunes are among the widest and highest in the Netherlands. The forest was planted in the nineteenth century because the residents of nearby Schoorl wanted to prevent their village from disappearing under the drifting sand. Via Bergen aan Zee, you cycle to charming Schoorl, where you can enjoy a drink on a terrace at the foot of the Klimduin. In the artists' village of Bergen, you will see several stately old buildings. Afterwards, you make another beautiful loop through the polder, with views of centuries-old windmills. Via Egmond aan den Hoef, you cycle back to your starting point, along the boulevard of Egmond aan Zee.
