Description
Your route starts near Horn Castle, one of the oldest, still intact ring wall castles in the Netherlands. A little later you drive into the Leudal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Limburg. It is intersected by the Tungelroyse Beek, locally called the Leubeek. After a cup of coffee at Café Restaurant St. Servaas, you cycle past Huis Nunhem, a historic country estate from 1710. On the other side of the mighty Maas you discover the Swalmdal and Zuidewijk Castle. You drive through the beautiful village of Asenray via Schöndeln Castle into the centuries-old and cozy Roermond. Put the bike away and grab a terrace on the Markt! You cycle back via the Noorderplas: this is the city beach of Roermond.
