Cycling route through the Land of Maas and Waal

From recreation area De Gouden Ham you cycle through the Land van Maas en Waal. You drive past grasslands, fields and orchards. You will also pass through picturesque villages, such as Horssen. As you cycle along the Kerkpad, you will see some beautiful nineteenth-century farms and three churches. After a short cut through Afferden you cycle for a few kilometers along the Waal and the floodplains. In Winssen you can see a detached medieval church tower. At De Arend you can get off for a drink and snack. Then it is time for the Gelderland castle history. In Hernen you first come across a well-preserved ancient castle that can be visited in part. In Batenburg, located further on, you pass the ruins of a medieval castle. Also beautiful. You cycle along the Maas to Appeltern.
