Tour of Rhenen

The Neder-Rijn flows just below the Utrecht town of Rhenen. If you cross the river, you will end up in the inner garden of the Netherlands where mainly fruit is grown: the Neder-Betuwe. This route takes you through this special area that lies between the Neder-Rijn and the Waal. Halfway through your bike ride you will arrive at the National Fruit Park. Take a guided tour through the orchards or explore it yourself. Is the fruit ripe? Then you can walk around here with delicious sweets that you pick from the trees yourself. Along the way you will pass villages such as Opheusden, Dodewaard, Ochten and Kesteren. The route takes you through a landscape of wet and dry meadows, floodplains with new nature and wide views over slowly flowing water.
