Your walk starts in Colmschate, with a cup of coffee at Tapperij/Eethuis't Hof van Colmschate. You walk through a mosaic of forest, fields and fields. In addition to a lot of natural beauty, you will also see historical buildings, such as Saxon farms, during this route. You walk past De Bannink country estate, which was founded in the 17th century at the Bannink farm on the Essener enk in what was then the Schoutambt Colmschate. The country estate was founded by patricians from the Hanseatic city of Deventer, who wanted to escape the bad city climate. In Oude Molen you can see what the village is named after: mill De Leeuw, from 1856. In Bathmen you will pass the fifteenth-century village church. Further on are two beautiful corn mills. You walk back along the Schipbeek, a side stream of the IJssel. A wonderful walking day full of variety!
