The route starts at Snackbistro de Toren in the center of Castricum.
Just before Castricum aan Zee you cycle into the southern part of the North Holland Dune Reserve. This nature reserve consists of a varied, fairly wooded landscape. The area around the Zeeweg is quite flat, surrounded by high dune tops. Take a moment to enjoy the silence and lee. At one of the entrances to the reserve you will find a ticket machine where you can buy a day ticket (rate 2015: € 1.80 pp) with PIN or credit card. Then you cycle back to Castricum via Heemskerk, where you can enjoy a snack and a drink at Snackbistro de Toren.
