Your cycling route starts at the Leonardo Boutique Museum Hotel Amsterdam City Center. Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is a beautiful historic town. The Vinkeveense Plassen are very popular as a water sports area, due to their central location in the Randstad. The lakes are connected to the Amstel river. They were created by the extraction of peat. The elongated islands that you can still see today are legakkers: drying fields for wet peat. Here you always see many white egrets and spoonbills. You drive back to your starting point via the lively student neighborhood De Pijp.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
