From its source at Netphen to Lahnstein where it flows into the Rhine, the Lahn covers 245 km. The route leads on largely car-free and mostly asphalted roads through the flat river landscape. In 2013, the Lahntalradweg was awarded 4 (out of max. 5) stars. The assessments included the accessibility, signposting and safety and the tourist offer. A unique attraction is the lock for canoeists at the ship tunnel in Weilburg.

The Lahntal, the tranquil dream of nature

Proud castles and fortresses, imposing churches, monasteries and cathedrals bear witness to the centuries-old history of the Lahn Valley . Cozy old towns with narrow streets and picturesque half-timbered houses bear witness to the activity of times long gone. The idyllic Lahntal with its quiet towns and wooded mountains still has its own appeal. Those who take the time can still experience it here, the tranquil dream of nature.
