From Hoeve Witteborg you drive along the water of the Oldambtmeer, which was built on former agricultural land. Further on you pass Oudeschans, a former fortress where you can take a look back in time. Bellingwolde enjoys a protected village view. On the Hoofdweg you can still see several grand manor farms from the golden Groningen grain era. The Magnus Church from 1527 and the former court house from 1643 are also pictures. Boschplaatse in Blijham was built as a manor, around 1580. In 1966 the house lost its function as a farm as a result of the first land consolidation in the Netherlands. The route also leads past the pleasant Scheemda, perhaps the most beautiful village in the Oldambt. Due to a quirk in the centuries-old land consolidation pattern, this is not a ribbon village.
