Tour Nieuwerkerk and surroundings

Schouwen-Duiveland once consisted of four small islands. Thanks to people and nature, they grew together and this Zeeland island developed into an ideal cycling area. You drive on quiet polder roads and winding dikes. The route starts at Hotel Bru in Bruinisse. At the Petit kitchen & bar restaurant you can have something to eat and drink before the start, from here you drive along the Grevelingenmeer. You cycle through the Dijkwater nature reserve, among other things. At Ouwerkerk you drive through a natural creek area. A varied forest of oaks, poplars and ash trees grows there. A little further on, Zierikzee appears on the horizon: a pleasant town with no fewer than 568 monuments. It is not without reason that the historic Zierikzee has a protected cityscape.
