Tour Nieuwerkerk and surroundings

Schouwen-Duiveland once consisted of four small islands. Thanks to man and nature, they grew together and this Zeeland island developed into an ideal cycling area, among other things. You drive on quiet polder roads and meandering dikes. The route starts at Hotel Bru in Bruinisse. At restaurant Petit kitchen & bar you can have something to eat and drink before the start, from here you drive along the Grevelingenmeer. You cycle through the Dijkwater nature reserve, among other things. At Ouwerkerk you drive through a natural creek area. There is a varied forest of oaks, poplars and ash trees. A little further on, Zierikzee appears on the horizon: a pleasant town with no less than 568 monuments. It is not for nothing that the historic Zierikzee has a protected cityscape.
