Tour of Nemerlaer Castle, Oisterwijk and Kampina

From Hoeve 1827 you can easily drive to the Oisterwijkse Bossen & Vennen. This used to be a vast heathland area. From the early 1800s, many hectares of Scots pine were planted for mining and shipbuilding. While cycling you will see some picturesque fens. Cycling along De Lind van Oisterwijk, the old marketplace that has the status of a protected cityscape, you will see some beautiful mansions and a centuries-old lime tree. From Oisterwijk you drive past meadows and fields to the Leemkuilen, now a swamp area rich in plants and birds. Clay was once dug here to make bricks. In the village of Helvoirt you cycle past various monumental buildings and old farms. Via the fourteenth-century Nemerlaer Castle you cycle back across the Kampina, a nature reserve of quiet forests and a large heathland.
