From 1859 to 1878 mr. JE Banck owned the island. He protected the village against the raging sea by building a dike. Nowadays there is a stone bench in his favorite spot on the dike.

Bunker Wassermann

The Wassermann is one of the many bunkers that the Germans built on the island during the Second World War. The bunker was part of the Atlantic Wall.
