On the Veluwe you will find a beautiful mix of adjacent nature reserves. This route takes you through the Sprielder & Speulderbos and the Houtdorper Veld. A guarantee for enjoyment!
Great Spriel
From here you drive straight into the Boeschoter Bos, where you immediately experience that characteristic tranquility of the Veluwe. On the Groot Spriel estate there is a country house built in neo-Renaissance style from 1880. A little further on you pass the Schovenhorst estate where you will find an arboretum and a viewing tower.
Houtdorper Field
It is wonderful to cycle in the Sprielder and Speulderbos. They are among the oldest and most beautiful forests in the Netherlands. You will see, among other things, birches with crooked trunks, in the mist they look like dancing trees. The Houtdorper Veld is an extensive and quiet heathland. In the autumn you drive through a sea of purple, beautiful! On the edge of Kootwijkerbroek you will pass the beautifully rebuilt Puurveense Molen, a flour mill from 1857.
