Cycling through the Sprielder and Speulderbos

On the Veluwe you will find a wonderful mix of adjacent nature reserves. This route takes you through the Sprielder- & Speulderbos and the Houtdorper Veld, among other things. A guarantee of enjoyment!

Big Spire
From here you can drive straight into the Boeschoter Bos, where you immediately experience the characteristic tranquility of the Veluwe. On the Groot Spriel estate there is a neo-Renaissance style country house from 1880. A little further on you pass Schovenhorst Estate where you will find an arboretum and a viewing tower.

Houtdorp Field
It is wonderful to cycle in the Sprielderbos and Speulderbos. They are among the oldest and most beautiful forests in the Netherlands. You can see birch trees with crooked trunks, in the mist they look like dancing trees. The Houtdorper Veld is a vast and quiet heathland. In the autumn you drive here through a sea of purple, beautiful! On the edge of Kootwijkerbroek you will pass the beautifully rebuilt Puurveense Molen, a flour mill from 1857.
