Tour of Woerden and Oudewater

This cycle route starts at Het Witte Hof. From here you cross the Reeuwijkse Plassen. As you cycle along channels, gorges and canals through a vast area, you will see cuckoo and pink flower growing on the banks and in the fields. Woerden's rich past, including special finds from Roman times, can be seen in the former town hall from 1501. Oudewater is the oldest town in the Green Heart. Here you can admire the fifteenth-century St. Michael's Church. Oudewater has the only'reliable\\\' witches' weighing house in Europe. In the Middle Ages, skinny ladies were weighed here. Anyone found wanting was a witch, and was burned at the stake. You drive back through the polder, along car-free roads past grasslands and pollard willows.
