Tour of Enschede and Lutterzand

From Enschede you can take a bike ride through nature at Oldenzaal and De Lutte. At junction 23 you enter Zuidkamp. This former army base was constructed by the Luftwaffe during the Second War and was intended to give the impression from the air that it was part of the Twente landscape. However, the buildings are not Twente, but designed according to National Socialist ideas. Some of these buildings still stand. East of Oldenzaal you cycle through some estates of former textile barons. Further on you drive through the Dinkel valley. Open meadows alternate with deciduous forests here. In the Lutterzand you will find a mix of sand drifts and forests with birches and oaks. You cycle back to IntercityHotel Enschede through the Twente scenic landscape.
