Tour of Barchem, Lochem and the Kranengoor Estate

Your route starts at Hotel Cafe Restaurant Prinsen. Cycle through a picturesque, small-scale semi-open landscape between Barchem, Lochem and Borculo. The fairytale vistas in the coulisse landscape are idyllic. Wooded banks, hedges, farms, fields and streams give the rolling surroundings a romantic touch and the estates and castles in the area are silent witnesses of Gelderland's cultural history. The Kranengoor estate has been managed with restraint in recent years, so that the small-scale landscape can recover. It is a very varied area with fields and woodland meadows, forests and old rebate structures. In the past, it was a damp, marshy lowland in the rolling Achterhoek cover sand landscape. 'Goor' also means wetland. Lochem and Borculo are nice places to get off and soak up the atmosphere.
