Description

This Beaver route starts and ends at the De Kemphaan city estate in Almere. This estate is located in the middle of the Waterlandse Bos. This route takes you along the green banks of the Hoge Vaart and the Lage Vaart, two canals that cross the Flevopolder and both end up in the Markermeer. Beavers are not particularly shy, so they also settle on the edge of inhabited areas. The chance of a chance encounter with a beaver is therefore much greater. In the summer, they mainly eat reeds, bulrushes and other plants. In the winter, the menu mainly consists of willow, poplar and ash bark. The typical way in which beavers fell these bombs can therefore mainly be found in the landscape during that period.
