The first part of this route you drive downstream along the Linge. You will cycle along a castle park and through the picturesque Heukelum. You continue through the polders to the Waal. Here you pass Fort Vuren. This fort was built in 1844, together with Fort Loevestein, to ensure that enemies could not move to the west. From the Waaldijk you have a beautiful view over the rippling water and the flowery grasslands. In Haaften you can see the Blue Reiger, a corn mill from 1856. Just past Waardenburg you cycle across the beautiful fourteenth-century Neerijnen estate. At Farm Camping De Hoge Haren you make a stopover, after which you cycle back through the polder.
