A recreational area of over 900 hectares has been created around the Rottemeren, a system of widening the river Rotte. The Rottemeren were created after the reclamation of surrounding polders and the river and its foothills are much higher than the polders due to peat and subsidence. The Eendrachtspolder has been constructed on a site that has traditionally always been agricultural land. Part has been constructed to prevent flooding, but also for recreation and (top) sports. After only 3 km from the parking lot at TOP Rottemeren you will pass mill Tweemanspolder no. 3, an octagonal ground sailer but it was built in 1792. Its predecessor burned down in 1792 and the construction of the new mill was completed in the same year. In 2009, the Tweemanspolder no. 3 was completely restored and made suitable for grinding. Close by you will also see Tweemanspolder no. 4. This beautiful octagonal ground sailer was built in 1722 and is therefore seventy years younger than number 3. This mill was also fully repaired in 2009 and the mill is ready to grind again. He drains the Tweemanspolder together with three other windmills. You cycle over 22 kilometers to the Eendrachtsmolen. This ground sailer dates from 1727. The polder mill was the upper mill of a mill corridor, but it no longer exists. In 2014, the mill is still used to drain the Eendrachtspolder; he refreshes the water for the Rotte.
