This route takes you through nature and the villages around Bergen op Zoom. The area consists of pine forests with here and there a drifting sand area. A nice combination between the tranquility of nature and the coziness of small villages.
De Wouwse Plantage estate
The starting point of this route is in Halsteren, a centuries-old village that used to be a peat extraction village. Take a look at the old town hall from 1633 in the center of the village. From here you cycle towards Bergen op Zoom and Wouwse Plantage. Along the way you will pass the De Wouwse Plantage estate. This 74 hectare site consists of wooded areas and picturesque forest ponds. You also cycle through the drifting sand area De Borgvlietse Duinen.
