Description

On the edge of Roden you can quickly take a look at the Landhuis Mensinge museum. The estate was a fief of the bishop of Utrecht. The manor house was built in 1381 and was inhabited until 1985. It is one of the few remaining manors in Drenthe. You continue through the Mensingebos. You discover fens, former heathlands and winding paths that offer you a view of the ancient stream valley landscape of the Lieversche Diep. The dolmens on the route are also definitely worth a visit. Dolmen D01 is almost completely complete except for the kerbstones. One capstone is missing from Dolmen Norg and another capstone is damaged. Via the esdorp Norg you drive back to your starting point.
