Description

The Medieval Sporenpad is a circular walk through the old peat polder De Zeevang. In this old peat polder you will find numerous traces of the past, such as old peat rivers, meandering dikes and ribbon villages. The flora and fauna in the area indicate that livestock farming has been extensive for centuries. This polder landscape is very important for meadow birds. There is a lot of fun going on here on a regular basis. In the breeding season (15 March to 15 June), the unpaved path between Middelie and Hobrede is closed and the self-service ferry is taken out of service to give the birds a rest. The walking route is marked with blue stickers. Dogs are allowed on this route. An exception to this is the unpaved path between Middelie and Hobrede where dogs are not allowed.
