This walk in the vicinity of Veere is a feast for the eyes. You see forests, grasslands and of course water, lots and lots of water. Behind the dike you walk through the quiet Veerse Bos and along whimsical old creeks. It is beautiful to see how the water meanders through the landscape here. In the polder you walk along vast grasslands and arable land. It produces a typical Zeeland picture of high skies and a distant horizon. You walk around Veere via the hamlet of Zanddijk. From the dike you have a beautiful view of this historic fortified town. If you have enough time, a detour through Veere is very worthwhile. With its sometimes age-old 145 national monuments and old-fashioned atmosphere, Veere is one of the gems of our country. At the quay of the Veerse Meer you have endless views over the water. There are plenty of benches to enjoy this wide view. But beware: time seems to have stood still here, it is ticking!
