Tour of Westhove Castle, Veere and Middelburg

Your cycling route starts with a cup of coffee at Dijkpaviljoen De Westkaap. From here you cycle along the coast to the historic seaside resort of Domburg and cycle through the Manteling nature reserve with the medieval Westhove Castle. The robust castle is a feast for the eyes with the carefully landscaped estate surrounding it. Veere is one of the most picturesque fortified towns in the Netherlands. You will see beautiful monuments, such as the Grote Kerk from 1348. The fifteenth-century town hall with its imposing facade now houses the De Vierschaar City Hall Museum. Via beautiful Middelburg you drive to't Munnikenhof, a medieval country estate where Jacob Cats wrote his poems in the seventeenth century. In the lovely Westkapelle you can learn more about the landscape created by war at the Polderhuis.
