Tour Boven-Slinge from Varsseveld

Your walking route starts at Hotel Café Restaurant De Ploeg in Varsseveld. From here you first walk to Molen de Engel, a round stone mill from 1850. The mill was completely restored in 1975 and is still ready for grinding. The fourteen-sided position is unique. Also note the weather vane in the shape of an angel blowing a trumpet. Then you walk to the Boven-Slinge, which enters the Netherlands near Kotten in the Winterswijk region. The name is said to be a reference to the winding barrel. In the past, the stream ran as Beneden-Slinge via the Slangenburg estate to the Oude IJssel near Doetinchem. Tip: during the summer months, the Boerderij/Museum Het Hofshuus museum farm is open near Varsseveld on certain days. Recommended! The route will automatically lead you past it.
