Explore this route around the Oude Maas, because the best of two worlds come together here: a beautiful river landscape and the bustling bustle of the city. You come very close to the busiest navigable point in the Netherlands: the'drierivierenpunt\\\' near Zwijndrecht. The rivers Noord, Oude Maas and Beneden-Merwede come together here and that causes a lot of traffic on the water. Take the binoculars with you to view the most beautiful (cargo) ships at your leisure. Of course cycling equals enjoyment, and that also means that there is room for an extensive lunch or dinner. At De Heeren van Ambacht you can enjoy delicious food in a monumental building from 1813. If you look closely, you can still recognize a detached farm. Take the time to enjoy a bite to eat, a drink and a good rest. When the inner man is well pampered, it is time to continue cycling. In Mijnsheerenland you can see an eighteenth-century country house on the Hof van Moerkerken. The history of the Hof van Moerkerken goes back to 1440, when the first craftsman of Moerkerke, Belgium, settled here. Traditionally, the house has been inhabited by the craftsmen. The building was renovated around 1796 and got its present appearance. Before the Second World War, the house was used as a refugee shelter, after the war the building was used to house recovering tuberculosis patients. Since 2007, the Hof van Moerkerken is privately owned. It is under the supervision of Monumentenzorg.
