Description

The city center of Breda is brimming with history. This walking route takes you along many beautiful buildings and historical highlights in the center of this Nassau city. The Beguinage of Breda is the oldest in the Netherlands. From the Valkenberg - the hip city park with its many old trees - you suddenly walk into the serene tranquility of a few centuries ago, a wonderful experience.

On the Kasteelplein you have a view of the beautiful Castle of Breda, where the Royal Military Academy has been located since 1826. In 1590, this castle was conquered from the Spaniards thanks to the famous ruse with the peat ship. You will find many terraces on the Grote Markt, it is a great place to spend a sunny day in a Burgundian way. Or to view beautiful facades, such as those of the former meat hall at number 19.
