To the three-country point

Visit Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium in one day! The three-country point is marked with a gray stone and flags and is not very exuberantly indicated in that respect. You arrive at the three-country point by crossing the Preuswald. In that case, be prepared for quite a climb, but it is more than worth your effort. Enjoying the green surroundings, the connoisseur will see white field rush growing under pedunculate oaks and beech trees. Scots or black pines are often planted on the sandy parts, and those who visit in the spring will see white wood sorrel and wood anemone on the ground. Bosveldke and spring seed fieldcress have the opportunity to grow in damp places. The variation in vegetation attracts a striking diversity of bird species. Several woodpeckers drum happily and groups of crossbills hang out in the coniferous wood. Siskins prefer to seek out alder and birch trees. Hares are active all day long, but if you come around dusk, a quiet visitor might also see deer. If you hear some scratching through the leaves on the ground, that is probably one of the many mouse species.
