Your route starts at Eetcafe De Droadnagel in the characteristic village of Haarle, at the foot of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. In this National Park you will find one of the largest contiguous heathlands in Europe, as well as forests, tranquility and an impressive relief. The last population of wild grouse in the Netherlands lives on the Sallandse Heuvel. For more information you can get off at the Sallandse Heuvelrug Visitor Center. Many goods used to be transported via the river Regge. From the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, zomps, boats with a flat bottom that could sail even in very shallow water, sailed here. Back at the starting point you can enjoy a well-deserved snack and drink to end the day wonderfully.
