Tour of Maassluis, Schipluiden and Broekpolder

Your route starts with a cup of coffee at't Sonnetje. From here you immediately cycle into beautiful Maassluis, a picturesque centuries-old mining village. Maasland enjoys a protected village view. Due to the many well-preserved centuries-old houses, time seems to have stood still here. In 1574, this area was still flooded when William of Orange had the dikes breached to drive out the Spaniards. In Schipluiden you will pass the Tram Station Museum. In this nice town you will see some beautiful monumental buildings on the quay. On the Vlaardingsevaart you will pass the former Rechthuis of Zouteveen, dating from 1651. On the way back you will drive through the Broekpolder, a nature reserve consisting of forests, open spaces and water features.
