Your route starts with a cup of coffee at the Bavaria Brewery Café. De Leest is the first sight on your route: it is a flour mill from 1899. You cross the Wilhelmina Canal and walk into the woods of the Molenheide. The heath is slowly being restored here, the former production forest is becoming more and more varied. Special are the hundreds of dead trees that remained after a storm, which ensure a nice cycle. This creates a more natural forest. When you walk back into Lieshout you will pass the Van Gogh Monument windmill De Vogelenzang. Vincent van Gogh lived and worked from December 1883 to November 1885 in nearby Nuenen. In this region he has made almost a quarter of his total oeuvre.
