Rose scent on the Maas

Old country houses, quiet nature reserves and rose cultivation: you will discover it along the Limburg Maas. From Broekhuizen you drive north. You will pass Ooijen, a castle that partly dates from the seventeenth century. You cross the Maas, after which you enter the forests of the Maasduinen National Park via Wellerlooi. Here you can enjoy the special natural beauty and the peace. In between you will pass Tuindorp, a town that still breathes a bit of the atmosphere of the 1950s in terms of buildings. In Arcen you can take a look at the Schanstoren. And cycle past the castle with its famous gardens. On the west side of the Maas you come through Grubbenvorst, through the forests you cycle to Lottum. The route ends at the Maashotel Broekhuizen and restaurant Bij Christoffel.
