Exploring the countryside of Borculo

Around Borculo you cycle through the beautiful Achterhoek scenic landscape. This is how you discover the forests of Landgoed de Cloese. The accompanying castle was built in 1520 by a pastor. The Zwiepse Molen, a flour mill from 1851, was moved several times in the nineteenth century due to poor wind conditions. In Barchem you will pass the Dutch Reformed Church, a beautiful monument from 1861. You will also pass some characteristic old Saxon farms along the way. In Haarlo you can view the octagonal church built in 1858 and called De Kluntjespot (sugar bowl) by the residents. The Hollandsche Molen from 1926 stands on top of the 35 meter high Needse Berg. In Geesteren you can see the medieval village church. Further on is De Ster, a flour mill from 1859.
