Description

Around Borculo you cycle through the beautiful Achterhoek bocage landscape. This is how you discover the forests of Landgoed de Cloese. The associated castle was built in 1520 by a pastor. The Zwiepse Molen, a flour mill from 1851, was moved several times in the nineteenth century due to bad wind. In Barchem you pass the Dutch Reformed Church, a beautiful monument from 1861. You also pass some characteristic old Saxon farms along the way. In Haarlo you can see the octagonal church, built in 1858, called De Kluntjespot (sugar bowl) by the residents. On top of the 35 meter high Needse Berg is the Hollandsche Molen from 1926. In Geesteren you can see the medieval village church. Further on is De Ster, a flour mill from 1859.
