Your route starts at Camperparc Stee in Lhee. National Park Drents-Friese Wold is located on the border of Southwest Drenthe and Southeast Friesland. This area of more than 6,000 hectares of forest, heathland and stream valley grasslands is one of the largest contiguous forest areas in the Netherlands. This route takes you through the vast forests of the eastern part of this national park. Along the way you drive through the characteristic old Drenthe esdorp landscape. In esdorpen such as Beilen, Diever and Dwingeloo, the farms are located together in the village. Beyond that are the common fields on the ash and the lower-lying meadows. Just north of Diever you can take a trip to dolmen D52. In the village itself is the St. Pancratius church from the twelfth century. This church is considered one of the most beautiful in Drenthe.

Camperparc Stee in Lhee is located only 6 km from the A28 in the Drenthe village of Lhee. Within 5 minutes you are at the famous Brink van Dwingeloo with its many terraces. You can also walk into the National Park Dwingelderveld within 5 minutes. Best of both worlds! Camperparc Stee in Lhee consists of 60 spacious, semi-paved pitches. All pitches are separated by a hedge of privet trees. You are sheltered but still experience the panoramic view over the beautiful Drenthe es landscape. Pure enjoyment. Parking along the public road is free.

Westrup was a manor in the Drenthe town of Dwingeloo in the Dieverderdingspel. Westrup received the status of manatee in 1740. Cornelis van Dongen tot de Oldengaerde had bought the manor Westrup in Westdorp near Borger on March 18, 1740. He requested the Drenthe country day to shift the right of manor to the house he bought in Dwingeloo. After this was allowed, the name Westrup moved to Dwingeloo. From 1740 the house was known as Westrup or Westdorp.

A bit outside Diever you will find Hunebed D52. These structures were used to bury the dead for about 5,400 years. This hunebed was restored in 1953.
