Description

This route takes you past Nuenen, the village where Vincent van Gogh spent several years. At junction 78 you see the Roosdonck, a round belt mill from 1884. Van Gogh drew this mill no fewer than seven times. Further on you drive through Nuenens Broek. This swamp forest was originally a swamp area, poplars were planted here in the 1930s. As soon as you emerge from the forest, you see an open landscape consisting of meadows and the Kleine Dommel river basin. Here you will pass two old water mills: the Opwettensemolen and De Collse Molen. You continue through the wooded area south of Nuenen and the agricultural area east of the village. You will also see the Van Gogh Church from 1824. The route ends at Comigo Lunchroom & Restaurant.
